A cardiology examination includes, among other things:

  • Auscultation of the heart to detect abnormal heart sounds or murmurs
  • Palpation of central and peripheral pulses
  • Auscultation of the cervical vessels
  • Auscultation of the chest to detect abnormal lung sounds
  • Check for peripheral edemas (swollen legs) or cyanosis
