An arrhythmia is any disturbance in the heart’s normal rhythm. When we have an arrhythmia, our heart may beat too slowly, too quickly, or irregularly.
Diagnostic testing for arrhythmias includes an electrocardiogram, 24-hour heart rhythm monitoring (Holter), and possibly other tests depending on the symptoms, medical history, and physical examination.
Treatment may include medication, but may also require a pacemaker implantation or cardiac ablation.
